Level 5 Virginia Quality Rated Center
To further promote excellence in education, Parish Day School has chosen to participate in the Virginia Quality Initiative. What is the Virginia Quality Initiative? The Virginia Quality Initiative was created to provide a consistent way to distinguish the level of quality in early education programs, allowing you to make more informed choices. Early learning providers who participate in this completely voluntary program are provided with a way to continually improve the quality of their services.
The quality rating and improvement system (QRIS) for early childhood providers awards programs one of five levels of increasing quality. But the rating is only the first step of the QRIS process. After receiving a rating, programs are given tools to improve their quality through mentoring and other assistance.
On May 16, 2006 Parish Day School earned accreditation from the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)- the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals. This NAEYC Accreditation lets families in our community know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences.
NAEYC strives to raise the quality of education for all children from birth through age eight. Accreditation systems are major part of NAEYC’s efforts to improve early childhood education; they allow programs to provide the best learning experiences for young children and their educators by meeting national standards of quality.
Parish Day School is one of the few not for profit, religious centers in the country to be NAEYC Accredited.
